Pityriasis rosea duration

Pityriasis rosea is known as a harmless, but rather annoying skin condition. Therefore, everyone wishes to know what the pityriasis rosea duration is. Well, this is a little more complicated to explain due to certain factors: if the patient notices the very first pustule that appears, called a herald patch, and goes to see their attending physician at once, the evolution of this skin condition can be stopped at a certain point and the pityriasis rosea duration will be shortened considerably.

However, if the sufferer is not paying attention to their own body or if the herald patch appears in a place that cannot be seen easily, the disease will run its own course. Usually, in children, it lasts anything between six to eight weeks. Sometimes, this duration can be extended because children are hard to convince to not scratch the pustules that appear. See, this is another factor that contributes to the pityriasis rosea duration: whether the patient scratches the little, liquid - filled sacks and breaks them.

If this happens, the duration of the disease in adults goes way up, even doubling sometimes, from three weeks to six weeks. Of course, there are ways to ensure that this skin condition goes by and does not leave any sort of marks: use cooling lotions to stop the itching, do not scratch the rash and try not to expose the pustules to the sun. If the patient respects all of these rules, everything should turn out to be all right
